Learn sewing skills that can lead to career opportunities.

Sew Fabulous Academy offers hands-on sewing workshops, a Department of Labor-approved apprenticeship pathway, and paid opportunities for people interested in building practical skills in alterations, embroidery, and studio-based sewing work.

Whether you are here to learn something useful, explore a creative skill, or take the first step toward sewing for work, your first stitch can lead somewhere meaningful.

Built for Skill, Confidence, and Future Work

Sew Fabulous Academy teaches practical sewing skills in a supportive, hands-on environment. Some students come to make something fun, learn a useful skill, or feel more confident with a sewing machine. Others discover they have the interest, patience, and ability to keep going.

That is why every workshop is designed to do two things: help students build real skills and give instructors the chance to notice participants who may be ready for apprenticeship-style training or future sewing work.

More Than a Sewing Class

A tote bag class, pants hemming workshop, or beginner sewing experience can be just for fun. It can also be the first step toward something more.

When someone shows promise, Angela may personally follow up to ask whether they would ever consider sewing for work.

How the Academy Pathway Works

🎟️

1. Register for a Workshop

Students begin with a hands-on sewing workshop. This might include a practical project, a foundational sewing skill, hemming, alterations basics, embroidery skills, or another real-world technique.

🧵

2. Build Practical Sewing Skills

Workshops are designed to help students learn by doing. Students receive supportive instruction, clear demonstrations, and the chance to practice skills they can use beyond the classroom.

📋

3. Be Considered for Next Steps

Instructors observe student progress, consistency, and skill development. When someone shows promise, Angela may follow up directly to discuss future sewing opportunities.

💼

4. Grow Into Paid Sewing Work

Some students may be invited to apply for apprenticeship. Others who already have the right experience may apply directly for current job openings.

Apprenticeship Training

Sew Fabulous Academy offers a Department of Labor-approved apprenticeship pathway for students ready to build deeper sewing skills. Three apprentices have graduated, and the program offers three progressive training levels.

Current Job Openings

For individuals who already have experience in sewing, alterations, embroidery, garment work, administration, or operations. If you need training first, you can start with a workshop or by exploring the apprenticeship pathway.

Partner Opportunities

We are seeking collaborators, funding partners, workforce development partners, and community organizations to help strengthen and expand this Department of Labor-approved apprenticeship pathway.
